Check this out students! A new website called Transfercar has been launched last September by a young and fresh Kiwi venture. And believe it or not, this website provides you with free cars and campervans. ‘From A to B for free’ on www.transfercar.co.nz; now, how handy is that going to be for you during summer? 

This venture has been developed by the two young entrepreneurs Brian Karlson and Espen Grimstad, and together they have developed a very clever idea into what is called Transfercar today.

This great website ended up as one of the winners of the 10k Challenge of the University of Auckland Entrepreneurship Challenge “Spark” in 2007.

All good so far, but why would you care about Transfercar? Well my dear students and ex-students, heading down South from Auckland to fill up on your mummies cooking in Christchurch can now be absolutely painless for your budget. Cruizin’ up north from Wellington to rendez-vous with your boyfriend can be very cute for the wallet too. And did I mention all those music events that are coming up during our awesome kiwi-summer -do I hear Big Day Out 2009...- which you can travel to for free?

Are you seeing the bigger picture here? Thanks to Transfercar there are opportunities abound to spend your money during summer on,  let’s say....more ’useful’ things than all those other transport-headaches a socially busy student like yourself doesn’t need. And as if this doesn’t already sound too good to be true-in some instances your rental campervan or car even includes free petrol, ferry crossing and insurance as well. Now, how ‘sweet’ is that?
